Dearest reader, if you’ve been keeping up with the latest happenings in the ton, you’ll know that one Lady Whistledown is in quite a pickle. Her identity has now been uncovered by two people and the Queen is hot on her heels. All that paired with a scorned best friend, how should Lady W handle this next season? Here, our Account Manager, Abigail, has put together a comms strategy for the ambitious author to help her maintain her reputation and anonymity.

The more the merrier

Getting a third party to endorse your messages speaks volumes and working with influencers can be a valuable way to do this. Data from Influencer Marketing Hub revealed that 85% of people believe that influencer marketing is an effective form of marketing.

Lady Whistledown could invest in turning those who have uncovered her identify into influencers, effectively becoming brand ambassadors for her publication. With more and more people on side, they could also help her to source even more juicy gossip for the society papers!

Marketing channel of choice

It might be time for Lady Whistledown to explore a new channel to keep things fresh and her audience on their toes. Email marketing is a fantastic option to deliver speedy updates to readers and can give Lady W an almost instant response to the latest breaking scandals.

While direct mail is generally the Lady’s marketing channel of choice (and who can blame her with research showing that nearly two-thirds say that mail attracts their undivided attention!)  she could explore ways to jazz up the papers to keep readers entertained and loyal (and distracted from trying to reveal her identity). This could include new pack designs or developing a mailer with some delicious treats to pique interest and leave readers wanting more.

A night to remember

When all seems lost, what is the best way to distract the ton’s upper echelons? Throw a ball! However, effective event management is key to a successful bash. Ensuring that caterers, logistics, guest lists, and any free goodies are organised and running smoothly is vital to creating an unforgettable evening. Lady Whistledown could even try and secure the Queen’s attendance to attract crowds…

Will the Lady opt for any off these methods when we return to the ton this month for season three of Bridgerton? All will be revealed. However, if you’re interested in boosting your marketing this year (or want to launch your own society papers!) get in touch with our team to get started.
