The Brief

Faith Brand Communications was first approached by the MYCC in 2018 to enhance its media presence and communication strategies. The MYCC wanted a focused approach on media relations, targeting both the mid Yorkshire region and the national business media. In addition to managing the Chamber’s press office, Faith was also tasked with supporting on campaigns including the Mid Yorkshire Chamber Business Awards, MY Conference, as well as promoting MY Export Hub, the Chamber’s international trade support arm.



Faith implemented a comprehensive strategy to achieve the MYCC’s objectives of enhanced media presence and brand communication. Recognising the importance of local and regional messaging, we closely monitored the news agenda to identify opportunities to contribute to local, regional and national conversations by issuing reactive statements and commentary by Martin Hathaway, managing director of the Chamber, positioning the Chamber as an expert local voice and building Martin’s personal profile.

Faith successfully executed numerous media releases, generating significant coverage and engagement. Notable releases included reactive statements on HS2, the Chancellor’s Spring Budget announcement, and a reaction to the opposition of an Amazon warehouse in the region, which received coverage in The Sunday Times. These releases were strategically crafted to align with the MYCC’s objectives and generate positive attention from the media and the public, positioning them as an expert local business voice that works to champion Yorkshire businesses on the national stage.

To amplify the MYCC’s messaging, media coverage has been shared through the Chamber’s social media channels and through email marketing to key stakeholders. Furthermore, Faith provided extensive support for the MYCC’s awards programme, creating a bespoke entry page to gather nominations and host information. We collaborated closely with the Chamber team to ensure the programme received recognition and drove entries from members and non-members. Through targeted media outreach and strategic messaging, the awards programme gained increased visibility, attracting nominations and showcasing the MYCC’s commitment to excellence in the local business community.


Over the past twelve months, we have achieved notable results in partnership with the MYCC. Through our focused efforts on media releases and reactive statements, leveraging the Chamber’s expertise and crafting compelling content, we have successfully secured extensive coverage for the MYCC’s initiatives and key messages across national publications such as The Sunday Times, the Daily Express and MSN UK, as well as local and regional titles including The Yorkshire Post, Look North and Yorkshire Business Insider. The coverage reach for the past 12 months totals over 10 million, with 100% of the MYCC’s messaging conveyed.

Overall, the Chamber has reached its target audience, meeting its key goals of successfully conveying a strong brand.
